The Role
The Company is seeking a highly skilled Vice President, Investments, to be based at headquarters in Los Angeles. Under the direction of the CEO, Alex Vouvalides, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Company’s retail acquisitions activity in partnership with Blackstone. They will also be responsible for understanding and communicating investment market conditions, analyzing risk and return with respect to underwriting investment opportunities, overseeing due diligence, and reporting results. The successful candidate will possess strong real estate investment knowledge, with a background in retail and mixed use sectors. This experience will also be accompanied by strong analytical modeling skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage a large team to work cross-functionally with other business lines, with high transaction volume. This is a high visibility role, with consistent and impactful interaction with executive leadership at EQ Office, ShopCore, and Blackstone.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Drive sourcing and assessment of retail and office investment opportunities (both asset level and corporate level transactions) by critically evaluating the merits and risks of the investment through the analysis of financial metrics.
- Evaluate investment opportunities including in-depth market review, financial and strategic analysis. Assist in preparing recommendations for investment committee and support all single-asset acquisitions.
- Support EQ and Blackstone in major investment activities (portfolio-level acquisitions, dispositions, development, joint ventures and M&A underwriting).
- Develop and maintain extensive network of industry relationships to stay attuned to market trends.
- Collaborate with EQ market leaders to research and analyze key statistics for managing the portfolio and making investment decisions.
- Manage financial analyst(s), associate(s), and senior associate(s) across the country and oversee workstreams to ensure consistent, high-quality output.

The Vice President, Investments, must have a growth mindset with the ability to build and develop teams, while expanding the scope of the business in a sustainable manner.

Professional Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience at a reputable real estate investment experience, ideally from an investment management or private equity platform, or alternatively from a REIT or operating platform.
- Proven track record of sourcing and acquiring retail opportunities.
- A self-starter that can work independently and work effectively with centralized team, while possessing the experience and gravitas to manage internal and external constituencies.
- Extensive history of creating and maintaining strong business relationships; meets with leasing and investment brokers and competing institutional owners to identify and strengthen business opportunities.
- Experience analyzing competitive market information and establishing performance benchmarks and best practices.
- Ability to think and act strategically with experience analyzing investment decisions.
- Strong Excel skills and extensive knowledge of Argus software.
- An undergraduate degree is required.
- Some travel required.
Compensation
The compensation available for the role considers a variety of factors including, but not limited to, work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other business needs. The estimated base salary range for individuals is $200,000 to $300,000 as part of an overall compensation package. The above salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base salary range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards that the Company provides to its employees.
