Come join the Intuit Personalization Platform team as a Senior Software Engineer. This team is responsible for core technologies that enable a highly personalized, delightful experience for our customers. You will be using cutting-edge technologies such as Java, Kubernetes, AWS, and machine-learning models to build infrastructure and services to unlock this capability.

Responsibilities

  1. Be responsible for roughly 80-90% hands-on coding and serve as a technical leader by mentoring junior engineers and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems.
  2. Drive the design and implementation of reliable and scalable backend software solutions that solve critical customer problems and interact with numerous other services.
  3. Deliver high quality web application code and contribute to overall site stability by conducting code reviews and writing unit and integration tests.
  4. Contribute to the design/architecture of the project and develop web software while implementing best practices for architecture, design, coding standards & CI/CD.
  5. Work collaboratively with AI experts and integrate AI into existing systems, leveraging expertise and guidance as needed.
  6. Propose AI solutions that can be applied to a variety of problems.

Minimum Requirements

  1. BS in Computer Science, MS Preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  2. 5+ years of programming experience - Java, REST & Spring.
  3. Hands-on experience building ML inference infrastructure systems.
  4. Strong CS fundamentals - data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
  5. Strong database fundamentals including SQL & no-SQL (Cassandra), performance and schema design.
  6. Experience with various offerings from AWS - S3, EC2, EMR, ELB/ALB.
  7. Strong experience with Object Oriented Development (OOD) & Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  8. Passion for troubleshooting issues in production and being data-driven.
  9. History of contributing to open-source projects is a plus.
  10. Solid communication skills: demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  11. Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or extreme programming approaches.
