Location

This role will have the option to be in a Work From Near (Hybrid) capacity based out of one of our offices OR in a Work From Anywhere (Remote) capacity with travel to clients and WillowTree offices expected.

The Opportunity

As the Senior Director, AI & Gen AI, you will lead the current Global AI & Gen AI practice across multiple geographies, driving the strategy, growth, and delivery of data-driven solutions for clients, leveraging data science, AI & Gen AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define global AI & Gen AI vision, product, technical strategy, and framework. Develop and execute the overall strategy for the services, aligning with company goals and market trends.
• Sell and deliver complex and innovative AI & Gen AI projects for our clients, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, Gen AI engineers, conversational AI experts, and LLM experts.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, guiding them on leveraging AI & Gen AI to drive business outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to grow the practice, working closely with sales teams to build relationships with new and existing clients.
• Lead the expansion of the global AI & Gen AI practice through the recruitment and coaching of global talent.
• Establish and refine processes to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and overall practice performance.
• Stay at the forefront of AI & Gen AI advancements, incorporating emerging technologies into practice offerings.
• Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, such as publishing articles and speaking at industry events.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data and AI services and 1+ years in Gen AI services.
• Proven leadership experience in data and AI, or a related role.
• Prior experience leading client data technical engagements across data engineering, data science, AI, and Gen AI workstreams.
• Strong leadership and proactive communication skills.
• Experience with delivering solutions on major cloud platforms.
• Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for leveraging data.
• Strong business acumen, with experience in managing P&L and client engagements.

Bonus Points

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or similar.
• Experience that spans across consulting, agency, and client-side roles.
