Job Description
The main function of a Materials Handler II is to receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.
Responsibilities- Ensure security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review.
- Develop and execute replenishment strategies; conduct physical inventories and lead cycle counts.
- Analyze and, when able, correct cycle count discrepancies.
- Audit incoming and outgoing shipments to assure quality and accuracy.
- Compile and document all transactions for data entry.
- Responsible for the physical receipt, storage, pick, pack, ship, transport, and delivery of inventory.
- Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer.
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
- Experience in production, general labor, and receiving trucks from suppliers.
- Ability to process receipts in the system.
- Capability to put away raw materials in the racks utilizing material handling equipment.
- Proficiency in pulling orders, with 8 loads a day going over to manufacturing.
- Ability to drive to the site where materials are offloaded.
- Experience operating a forklift, material handling, loading/unloading trucks, inventory, packaging, packing, picking, unloading, loading, shipping & receiving, labeling, RF scanner, pallet jack, and warehouse packing
- 1-3 years of warehouse/material handling experience.
Location - Sorrento Valley, CA
Shift - 1st Shift (6:00AM - 2:30PM Monday - Friday)
