Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City South, is a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital located in the southern part of Oklahoma City at 7900 Mid America Blvd. Our rehabilitation hospital provides care for patients 18 and over recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. Patients receive 3 hours of Therapy every 5 out of 7 days they are at our facility.
We aim to provide the most optimal setting for rehabilitation and recovery. To achieve this goal, we offer the following amenities:
• 41,000 square feet of a modern, naturally sunlit environment to drastically enhance our patients, families, and staff experience.
• 36 private rooms
• Large modern equipped Therapy Gyms including a EKSO Skeleton NR
• A complete pharmacy and in-house dialysis capabilities
• A retrofitted “Smart Car” (real car) for mobility therapy
• A large therapy courtyard with multiple therapy options in a park like setting
• A furnished Assisted Daily Living apartment with a fully functioning kitchen and bath
• A large dining hall with buffet line and outdoor patio for patients, physicians, co-workers, and family to enjoy.

Overview:
Under the general supervision of alicensed Occupational Therapist and according to standards of treatment, assists with objective assessments as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for patients of all age ranges, according to departmental policies and procedures. Performs duties andresponsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
- Assist with initial assessment on each patient upon receiving direction from O.T.R./L. and according todepartmental policies and procedures.
- Document the course of patient care including progress notes and the continuing need for treatment according to departmental policy.
- Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies and procedures on standards of treatment care.
- Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patientaccording to departmental policies regarding documentation and charges.
- Participate in promoting education within the department
- Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors ofspecific age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Perform miscellaneous job duties observed as directed by the Inpatient PhysicalMedicine Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
- Experience: One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates.
- Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
