AIML-Sr. Machine Learning Platform Engineer, Measurement

We are seeking an experienced on-device machine learning engineer to join our team building privacy-preserving technologies for measurement and machine learning.
In this role you will:
Collaborate with other engineers to design and develop end-to-end measurement systems with high utility that meet Apple’s industry-leading privacy bar.
Operate independently to solve complex problems at the intersection of privacy-preserving measurement and machine learning.
Contribute to the development of data collection systems that enable training and evaluation of generative AI systems while preserving user privacy.
Successful candidates will need to have a strong technical background and interest or experience with iOS development and deploying privacy-preserving systems. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build consensus are crucial to success in this role. You will be working across a range of technologies, so adaptability to new problems and systems is a core skill.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience in building production pipelines for machine learning.
Strong hands-on experience in iOS development, with proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Scala, and C++.
Experience in building container applications, using platforms/technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
Strong problem-solving skills, creativity in finding effective solutions, and the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
BS in Computer Science, EE or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for customer privacy.
Experience with differential privacy, secure multi-party computation, or private federated learning.
Experience with training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models to production.
5+ years of industry experience.
Master's degree or PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
