Accounting Manager

with 6-8 years of total experience, including team leadership responsibilities, to join the team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting manager who is looking to grow their leadership capabilities and play a critical role in driving the team’s success. This is a full-time salaried position based in our West Los Angeles office, reporting to the Accounting Senior Manager. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday. Job Description

Manage and oversee month-end close activities, including reviewing and approving journal entries, analyzing variances, and drawing conclusions from available data. Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and implement action plans to resolve reconciling items. Analyze accounting transactions, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy and completion, and provide variance explanations. Apply judgment and expertise to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Plan, allocate, and oversee the team’s workload to ensure coverage and timely completion of tasks and deliverables. Identify and resolve issues independently with the team, escalating to management as necessary. Mentor, train, and coach less experienced team members, providing guidance on day-to-day activities, career development, and technical accounting matters. Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback to ensure professional development and achievement of departmental goals. Lead and manage more complex accounting tasks, such as 1031 exchanges, and serve as a mentor to junior team members. Act as the subject matter expert for legal entities supported by the corporate accounting team. Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the corporate accounting team’s operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, treasury, and tax, to support organizational objectives. Drive the adoption of best practices to improve the team’s processes. Play a key role in special projects and ad hoc requests such as supporting the year-end audit, internal financial reporting, compliance initiatives, and tax filings. Oversee the preparation of annual tax packages and personal property tax filings. Be willing to learn different areas of the Corporate Accounting department in order to serve as backup as needed. Qualifications

6-8 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, with strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls, with team leadership and management responsibilities. Advanced proficiency on Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in managing tasks, while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines. Proven track record of managing and developing teams to achieve organizational goals. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic decisions that positively impact accounting operations. Effective multitasking and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Preferred, but not required: Major ERP system experience, preferably Oracle. Experience working with internal and external auditors. CPA or CPA candidate. Pay Range: $120,000 - $135,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience. Additional Information
