Position Overview The Vice President Sales – Global Life Sciences for Leica Biosystems is responsible for leading a team of Life Sciences Sales Professionals for our BOND RX Advanced Staining (IHC) Research Instruments and Content, Digital Pathology and Core Histology Equipment and Consumables. She/he will develop and execute a global life sciences business strategy for all aspects of the sales function of Leica Biosystems organization (primarily United States), with the aim of gaining market share and maximizing revenue growth across all markets in the Life Sciences sector. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in sales leadership within diagnostics and pharma/biotech, combined with a strong ability to build and lead high-performance teams that deliver measurable results.

This position is fully remote based in the U.S. but will require frequent travel to work with our sales associates, visit customers, attend trade shows, and participate in meetings at our North America Commercial office in Deer Park, IL. Willingness to travel internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive global sales strategy aligned with company objectives for our portfolio across life sciences.

Drive advancement of Leica Biosystems strategy through deep understanding of Life Science customer segments, needs and how these map to our solutions portfolio today, and future roadmap, including monitoring industry trends and collaborating with the executive team and Life Science Business Unit to identify new business opportunities. Build brand awareness and preference for Leica solutions.

Oversee forecasting, sales budgeting, and sales performance, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with business goals.

Build, lead, and mentor a high-caliber global sales team with 15-30+ associates, including sales managers with >$250M of annual revenue to foster a results-driven and collaborative culture.

Drive the use of Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools to challenge and develop the business capabilities of the teams in a manner that motivates them to strive for continuous improvement and organizational excellence.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, serving as a strategic advisor to promote long-term partnerships.

Continuously drive Voice of the Customer (VOC) back into all parts of the business by collaborating with marketing, product, and customer success teams to enhance product-market fit and successful launch of new solutions.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field with 20+ years of sales experience in the Life Sciences industry, with at least 10 years in an executive sales leadership role OR Masters/Doctoral degree with 18+ years of sales experience in the Life Sciences industry.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets on a global scale in Life Sciences, Diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals.

Demonstrated expertise leading within a technology driven, solutions based multi-national medical technology or scientific products company, with an emphasis on marketing, sales, distributor management, commercial operations and customer support.

Strong understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements impacting Life Sciences sales.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Experience with CRM and sales analytics platforms, with a data-driven approach to sales management.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

Ability to travel – 50-75%, both domestic and internationally.

Valid U.S. Passport.

Valid U.S. driver’s license with a driving record that will meet fleet eligibility requirements.

The salary range for this role is $170,000 to $225,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
