Finance Manager, Amazon Business Finance

Entering the business to business (B2B) market is one of Amazon’s most exciting growth opportunities and since launching in 2015, Amazon Business (AB) already has more than 5 million customers. This role acts as a Finance partner for one or more Sales sectors for Amazon Business in Japan, leading the analysis and planning for growth programs. This role will lead the finance activities, create the reporting mechanisms that are scalable, and perform analysis, including creating new frameworks required to grow B2B spend. The role will drive growth through detailed financial modeling, leading business initiatives, and identifying/improving key business indicators such as sales productivity, profitability, and sales mix to provide insightful inputs to the business leaders to drive maximum growth. Additional responsibilities may include delivering cost and process improvements, performing reviews of forecast vs. actual variances, and communicating with management and peers about business issues and demanding actions. He/she may also have a subordinate to manage, coach, and develop in due course of time.
This position is expected to interact extensively with JP AB Business stakeholders and work closely with Amazon Business teams and finance teams across other locations. The position will report to the AB Finance Head in Japan.

Key Job Responsibilities

In general, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Serve as a finance partner working directly with Amazon Business leadership, supporting one or more of the Sales segments.
  2. Lead the financial planning and analysis processes with metrics and data insights for financial risks, opportunities, and investment decisions.
  3. Lead the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual business performance reviews.
  4. Develop, report, and analyze key input metrics that support team goals.
  5. Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data-driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of options and alternatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years experience as finance lead in an organization with world-class processes, or 7+ years’ experience in consulting or a financial institution. Experience in B2B business is preferred.
- Business communication level in English.
- Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and project analysis (example: business modeling), and data interpretation of business impact and results (example: what-if scenarios).
- Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal form.
- Ability to present and defend ideas in front of senior and executive leadership.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong SQL proficiency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Business communication level in Japanese.
- MBA.
