Schedule: Full Time 40 hours/week
Shift : Monday - Wednesday 8:30am - 5:00pm; Thursdays 8:30am - 8:00pm, Friday and Saturdays( Every other ) 8:30am - 12:00pm
Location: AdventHealth LaGrange Family Residency Medicine Center
The role youll contribute:
Collects and processes blood specimens for testing, registers patients and serves as a resource to phlebotomy team
The value youll bring to the team:
Registers patient information and orders laboratory tests.
Evaluates test requests for method, time, patient preparation and proper collection procedures.
Trains new and current staff in the different areas of the department.
Draws and collects blood samples according to policy. Verifies all related records.
Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing according to protocol.
Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.
Assists with office duties such as OP orders, answering phone, faxing, and filing.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
- Prior drawing and spinning blood products highly preferred
- Prior Certified Medical Assistant Experience a plus
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
