Preferred Qualifications: Is at least 18 years of age. Successful candidates must be highly qualified. High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Accurately follows oral and written directions. Effectively controls a group, independent of an immediate supervisor. Previous school-based experience with children preferred, but not required.
Performance Responsibilities: Assists classroom teacher(s) in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve and enhance instructional objectives. Records test data as assigned. Performs clerical duties and assists with maintaining various records and files. Files, test scores, and related records are kept confidential. Works with small groups or individuals to reinforce materials introduced by the teacher(s). Provides programmed practice activities and repetitions. Works with computers to assist students with instructional activities. Assists with large group activities. Escorts students to special classes, library, physical education, etc. Guides independent study and other work as assigned by teacher(s). Advises teacher(s) on students' problems (instructional or behavioral). Assists students with disabilities, loading and unloading buses. Assists students or an assigned student with breakfast, lunch, snacks, clean up, lavatory, clothing, personal hygiene, and wash-up routines. Encourages students to continue special tasks as practiced in OT & PT if appropriate. Maintains confidentiality of student and school-related information. Participates in in-service training programs as assigned. Performs other duties as required by the assigned teacher(s) or principal.
Terms of employment: 182 days per year
Salary to be determined by the 2024-2025 Salary Scale
