Licensed Practical Nurse
Licensed Practical Nurses at Cayuga Medical Center are an integral part of the collaborative interdisciplinary team devoted to the delivery of comprehensive and compassionate care to the Tompkins County community. LPNs are able to practice at their full scope of practice, and have the opportunity to engage in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services with the goal of improving patient outcomes, and execute an optimal plan of care in a shared governance environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Ability to communicate in a clear and respectful manner with both patients and co-workers. * Dispenses medication within scope of practice and accurately documents in patients EMR. * Obtaining data related to patient care and recording accurately in the patients EMR. * Reports abnormal findings or changes in mental, and emotional conditions of the patient to the RN. Examples include changes in vital signs, abnormal weight gain or loss, increase in pain, etc.... * Responds promptly to call bells and patient needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
* License: Active New York Nursing license, out of state nurses are still eligible to apply * Minimum education: completion of an accredited LPN program * Experience: preferred, but not expected * Certifications: BLS (new hires have the opportunity to obtain these certifications during introductory period)
Physical:
* Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.

Pay Range Disclosure:
* $24.04 to $32.21 per hour
