**Job Description**
Our Physician Assistant performs a vital role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. Together, the collaborative Physician and PA will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our members.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
+ Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.
+ Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non‐urgent presentation.
+ Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
+ Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosis included.
+ Write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies by following company protocols.
+ Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.
+ Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc.
+ Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow‐up notes.
Our Physician Assistant will address the following in-office topics/chief complaints while working alongside our shared call group of seven (7) physicians: AUB (abnormal bleeding), Bartholin Gland, Annual Exam (breast exam, pelvic exam), Cryo Therapy, Ectopic Pregnancy, EMB, IUD Insertion & Removal, Mife ("abortion pill"), Nexplanon Insertion & Removal, UTI (urinary tract infections), Vulvar Biopsy, Infertility counseling, birth control consults, STD testing/counseling, Pelvic pain and Pessary checks.
Physician in-basket management
This is a 4/10's schedule. There is no calls or weekends
**Qualifications**
Educational Requirements:
+ Graduate from an accredited PA program required
License/Certification:
+ Current unrestricted Physician Assistant license issued by the State of California required
+ Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate required
+ Basic Life Support certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
+ Basic Life Support (BLS)
+ Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license required
Experience:
+ Minimum one (1) year experience as an PA strongly preferred.
