Above Average Employee Tenure! CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

Set Up and Operate CNC Machines: Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (e.g., CNC lathes, mills, and grinders) to produce parts according to specifications. Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machine setup, tooling, and other requirements. Tool Selection: Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments for the CNC machine. Program Creation and Editing: Write or modify CNC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Quality Control: Monitor part quality using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ensure parts meet tolerance requirements. Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure proper functioning. Manual Machinist Responsibilities:

Operate Manual Machines: Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and surface grinders to produce precision parts. Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine proper machine setups, cutting tools, and machining processes. Tool Setup: Select and install appropriate tools, adjust settings, and calibrate machines for specific tasks. Precision Machining: Perform manual machining tasks such as turning, drilling, and milling with a high level of precision to meet design specifications. Inspect Finished Parts: Use measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to inspect and verify the dimensions of the machined parts. Manual Adjustments: Make adjustments to machine settings, feeds, and speeds to maintain quality and tolerances during operation. Maintain Work Area: Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free from hazards. Machine Maintenance: Conduct basic machine maintenance, including cleaning and oiling to maintain machine performance.
