Motis Brands is seeking a Cost Accountant to oversee cost accounting activities. This role includes tracking, analyzing, and reporting on the cost of manufacturing processes to ensure accurate accounting of cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, production costs and gross margin. You will interact with all levels of the Company and will directly contribute to our success through accurate cost tracking, variance analysis, and providing actionable insights that will ultimately improve financial performance.

Analyze direct and indirect costs associated with manufacturing operations, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. Maintain standard costing for multiple Company locations Assist with review and maintenance of bill of materials Prepare and maintain accurate cost reports, detailing production costs and variances. Provide timely reporting and analysis of cost of goods sold to ensure accurate financial reporting. Investigate fluctuations and work closely with operations to identify and explain discrepancies and trends Assist in developing manufacturing budgets, standard cost updates, and forecasts related to production and material costs. Assist with developing procedures that improve the accuracy of functional performance reporting and identification opportunities for further cost reduction across the operation. Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead. Investigate causes and propose corrective actions. Leverage NetSuite and BI tools for accurate cost accounting and reporting. Ensure accurate data input and extraction of cost reports from NetSuite and provide recommendations for system improvements.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Minimum of five years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with standard costing, cost of goods sold and gross margin variance analysis Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes. Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial analysis tools. Proficiency in NetSuite is strongly preferred. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Solution-oriented mindset Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments
