We are looking for a highly motivated and solution-oriented Data Scientist to join our Search & Recommendation Analytics team. The team leverages Wayfair’s huge datasets to inform the roadmap of our recommendations. We work in close collaboration with a high performing team of engineers, machine learning engineers/data scientists, and product managers who are on the leading edge of the search and product recommendation space.
What You'll Do
Own and develop the strategic analytic agenda to unlock insights and guide the business.
Collaborate with cross functional partners and ensure that there is strong alignment between Wayfair’s business objectives and our Data Science driven strategies.
Bring your expertise in A/B testing to identify, design, execute, and analyze tests to make high-impact changes to the customer site and app experiences.
Develop key metrics and reporting to measure how initiatives are improving Wayfair’s performance and enabling our team to easily identify trends, root causes and develop targeted action plans.
Leverage your modeling skills and apply data science techniques to solve ambiguous problems.
Build prototypes and dashboards to translate large data sets into driving insights and action.
Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization
What You'll Need
Master's and/or Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
2+ years work experience in quantitative analytics, testing and/or predictive modeling
Professional experience in writing code in structured programming languages (Python, R), writing scripts using GBQ or SQL, creating Pivot Tables and Vlookups in Google Sheets or Excel, and using data visualization tools such as Data Studio, Looker, Tableau or PowerBI.
Experience in leveraging A/B testing and other experimentation methodologies for effective product launch measurement.
Experience applying data science techniques such as classification, regression, and clustering; and partnering with business teams on agile model development.
Demonstrated success in communicating with and influencing senior level stakeholders on strategic direction based on recommendations backed by in-depth analysis.
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and technical abilities along with problem-solving skills.
Collaborative mindset that thrives as part of a team
Data and process-oriented, demonstrated ability to continuously learn new tools
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
