Required Education:
• Master Degree of Science required in Biological Sciences/Biochemistry or related discipline
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Two or more years of experience in a laboratory technician role (can include experience gained during M.S. thesis work)
• Demonstrable experience with biofluid sample handling and analytical techniques
• Excellent organizational, wet lab (pipetting) and laboratory skills (ion chromatography and ELISA assays)
• Must have a pro-active work style, able to multitask, and be flexible to work in a high-performance and ever-changing environment
• Self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with various personalities and work styles
Research and Development Scientist Overview:
Client is committed to helping athletes optimize their health and performance through research and education in hydration and nutrition science. Recently, Client has embarked on a new project to expand the research and athlete testing facility in Valhalla. This facility is responsible for conducting efficacy research on functional ingredients for hydration. As a part of Client, the incumbent of this Scientist role will be responsible for representing Client R&D teams with high standards and in accordance with ethical guidelines for human research and conduct.
Job Duties:
• Execute the laboratory-based clinical research studies at GSSI’s research hub in Valhalla, NY
• Biochemistry Technician for the clinical research program responsible for biological fluid sample handling, analysis, and laboratory/equipment maintenance
Hours:
• 8-5 Mon-Fri with flexibility and willingness to work during non-traditional hours (e.g., early morning) as needed depending upon research protocol (approximately 15-20%)
