Description Leidos is on the lookout for a skilled Lead Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a major digital modernization program for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies. Primary Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge virtual desktop infrastructures within Azure IL5 and IL6 cloud environments, ensuring seamless connectivity with DoD Fourth Estate Agency systems. Contribute to the development and upkeep of privileged access workstations (PAW) to enhance security and operational efficiency. Efficiently manage VDI resource pools within Azure IL5 and IL6, optimizing resource allocation for better performance. Create tailored virtual desktop images for various DoD agencies to meet specific technical and operational needs. Proactively monitor and resolve issues within the VDI infrastructure, collaborating effectively with Tier 1-2 service desk personnel to ensure minimal downtime. Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement by introducing innovative solutions and streamlining processes in the VDI domain. Adhere to robust security best practices, leveraging your expertise in security policies, network security, and data protection. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is essential. Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining VDI environments such as Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, Amazon Workspaces, Citrix, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security standards, including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA. Able to thrive in a distributed technical team, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence, is a plus. Current IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security or CISSP is required. Preferred Qualifications Active DoD Secret clearance highly desirable. Experience delivering VDI solutions tailored to U.S. Government clientele is an advantage. Recognized certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or VMware Certified Professional - End-User Computing are preferred. Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00 Please note that the Leidos pay range serves as a guideline and does not guarantee a specific salary.
