Senior Network Security Engineer

Description Leidos' Digital Modernization sector is looking for a talented Senior Network Security Engineer to be part of the GSM-O effort. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing intricate firewall solutions to safeguard our network infrastructure's security and integrity. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto, combined with a solid foundation in security networking. Primary Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage advanced firewall solutions utilizing Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto technologies. Monitor firewall performance and security logs to proactively identify and counteract potential threats. Create and enforce comprehensive network security policies and procedures. Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations. Collaborate with IT, Security, and Network teams to effectively integrate firewall solutions into the existing infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall-related issues promptly, documenting findings within ticket systems. Maintain and update firewall configurations, including security policies and firewall ACLs, following Change Management approval. Required Clearance and Certifications: Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI; an active TS/SCI is preferred. Must hold DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification (Security CE or equivalent) before starting. Must have a Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification prior to commencement. Required Qualifications: BS degree coupled with 8 years of directly relevant experience; additional military or employment history may be considered in lieu of a degree. Over 3 years of Firewall experience within a DoD environment. Proven expertise in implementing perimeter and internal firewalls in both physical and virtual settings. Advanced experience managing standard baseline configurations across multiple firewalls. Strong capability in evaluating firewall rules to maximize security while minimizing redundancies.
