Position Description The IT Support Specialist II's scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of software applications, customized applications, and websites, etc.
Major/Essential Functions Install & manage computer-based systems Proactively provide technical support to department faculty, staff and residents Specify and facilitate the purchase of hardware & software assets for the department Familiar with data ETL processes and Data visualization programs such as Tableau and Power BI Use programming language to generate various reports Manage department's computer equipment and toner inventory system Work with institutional IT department on Active Directory requests Maintain security and integrity of technological infrastructure Train faculty, staff and residents in usage of systems needed to perform their duties Provide IT Project support and troubleshooting for problems that arise in department's systems & projects Serves as the department's liaison between TTUHSC I.T. in matters regarding I.T. security, VOIP systems, server support, and networking with TTUHSC I.T. to facilitate continuous functionality Manage and develop department's Sharepoint site Assist department personnel and Communications department with requests and troubleshooting for eFax and phone system
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.
