Job Description:
MEI has a job opportunity for a Mechanical Designer with a background in Plumbing Design to be an integral member of our Mechanical design team. The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. MEI is committed to providing opportunities for professional development and growth. This role will be based in Austin, TX.
Job Duties :
Support the design and document production of mechanical and plumbing systems for various projects
Writing and editing of mechanical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, mechanical systems, and devices
Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, preparation of record drawings, site visits, inspections and participation in commissioning work
Ensure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines and on budget
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
Skills in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software, etc.
Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices
Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
Qualifications :
Proficiency in BIM, CFD, Energy Modeling or other advanced tools and methods for HVAC design and analysis
Certification from ASHRAE, LEED, or other relevant organizations
Experience in green building or energy efficiency projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, or USGBC
Commissioning experience
Active PE License
Plumbing design experience
