Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Hardware Engineer to sit in Cheshire, CT. The candidate will be accountable for designing, building, and testing printed circuit boards (PCB) for electronic products for the gas industry. The candidate will also design, develop and build test fixtures for production volumes and create test plans for a variety of projects within the group using OrCad, Altium, or PADs. We require an individual that is comfortable working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and competent in the role of a hardware design engineer with experience in designing circuits and understanding of developing hardware for embedded systems.

Required Skills & Experience
* 4+ years of experience designing, building, and testing hardware for embedded systems.
* Experience with board testing & verification from board houses.
* Experienced using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and basic lab tools and instruments.
* Expert knowledge of schematic capture software such as OrCad, Altium, PADs or equivalent.
* BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
Knowledge/experience with proper PC board/System level design so as to preclude electromagnetic compatibility issues and ESD within an RF/Embedded microcontroller antenna based system
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with design for Hazardous Locations
Experience with RF wireless communication technologies such as 4G, 5G, Dust, Sigfox and LoRa
Experience in documenting and obtaining TUV, EMC, UL, and FCC regulatory approvals
Experience with basic firmware design in C, C++, Assembly etc.
Experience with FPGAs and CPLD
