Salary Range: $15.50 - $16.00 Hourly

Job Overview:

To perform a variety of cleaning duties necessary for maintenance and operations of the Museum buildings.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Clean and stock all toilet facilities daily
  • Prepare each studio and meeting room according to the needs of the instructors as indicated by the schedule. This includes: changing the paper covering, aligning the chairs, easels and other furniture. Mop the floors and cleaning the sinks as needed.
  • Remove all trash from building daily
  • Replace burned out light bulbs as needed
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs in lobbies, galleries and offices, spot clean as needed
  • Dust-mop/sweep all floors throughout buildings as needed
  • Wash windows and glass doors daily
  • Polish stainless steel elevators weekly or as needed
  • Wet mop all floors as needed, refinish as directed
  • Set up and break down event furniture according to calendar and as specified by Event Orders
  • Perform snow removal of stairs and entrance areas; shovel and spread ice melt as needed
  • Deliver boxes from mailroom to staff throughout the facility
  • Assist staff in the movement and arrangement of office furniture
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements

Qualifications:
  • General knowledge of maintenance procedures
  • Ability to lift up at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 8 feet
  • Ability to climb/descend stairs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work under dirty or dusty conditions and/or outside in adverse weather
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and the public

Education and Experience:
  • Ability to read and basic math required.
  • Up to one year in similar position.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Hepatitis B Vaccination or Waiver
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends) to provide coverage for the Museum's many events running 7 days per week
