Purpose of Position
The Sanitation Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing sanitation protocols within our manufacturing facilities. This role requires a keen understanding of food safety regulations, industry best practices, and the ability to lead a team in maintaining a sanitary and safe working environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to enforce sanitation standards, conduct regular inspections, and continuously improve our sanitation processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Create and update comprehensive sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implement effective cleaning and sanitization schedules for all areas of the plant.
- Supervise and lead a sanitation team, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure adherence to sanitation protocols.
- Schedule and coordinate sanitation activities to minimize disruption to production processes.
- Conduct routine inspections to assess the cleanliness and hygiene of equipment, facilities, and production areas.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal sanitation and safety regulations.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in sanitation processes and implement corrective actions.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in sanitation practices.
- Communicate effectively with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to address sanitation issues and coordinate activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement company-wide sanitation initiatives.
- Ensure that employees and managers have the required food safety, sanitation, and occupational safety training and development.
- Conduct risk assessments and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the policies and procedures are up to date and communicated to the organization.
- Responsible for supporting food safety and quality in the plant
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- 2+ years' proven experience in sanitation leadership within the food manufacturing industry
- Understand and have knowledge of chemicals used in the cleaning process.
- Understand the manufacturing process and equipment parts/systems to ensure proper sanitization of equipment and efficient line start-ups.
- Understand and have knowledge of GMP, SQF audits, FDA, PMO, HACCP, and OSHA requirements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
