Distributed in $10,000 increments every six months for 36 months$45,000 COMMITMENT BONUS is presently provided to pending graduates or new grads. Distributed in $7500 increments every six months for 36 monthsNote: Stipend recipients are not eligible for the new grad commitment bonus.$48,000 bonus is available to SRNA students who commit to a 36-month tenure at Duke, effective as soon as education, certification, license, and credentialing/privileging requirements are met (typically starting 3 months post-graduation) SRNA Stipend Recipients receive a lump sum of $36,000 stipend during their senior year of CRNA school OR after signing the SRNA Commitment to work at Duke for 36 monthsAn additional $12,000 bonus is paid in two $6,000 installments on the 6-month and 12-month work anniversaries after starting as a CRNA -A $15,000 annual stipend is currently being offered to all 1.0 FTE CRNAs working in a hospital setting for each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), prorated and paid out monthly based on FTE status.$2500 annual CME allowance for 1.0 FTEs, prorated for those working lessA $8,000 relocation budget is available for CRNAs who move 50 miles or more to live near the Duke Facility. -Job LocationDuke University Hospital (multiple practice setting options) -Job SummaryAdminister anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical, obstetrical and other medical procedures. -Job Responsibilities and Duties Administer general anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures; take necessary remedial action to aspirate secretions from throat, larynx, and trachea as required. Determine, set up, and prepare necessary drugs, supplies, and equipment for administering anesthetics; assemble the gas machine and test it to ensure proper functioning; ensure the availability of proper type blood for emergency use. Study patient records to determine the probable effects of the anesthetic on the patient; monitor vital signs during the procedure; and take necessary action to ensure the patient's near-normal physiological status. Prepare patients for anesthesia, including explaining procedures and positioning them on the operating room table; record the patient's condition and the type of anesthetic used on the patient's chart. Assist in moving the patient from the operating room to the recovery area; check the patient periodically and take remedial measures to alleviate unfavorable post-anesthesia effects as required. Supervise and instruct student nurse anesthetists in the administration of general anesthetics; assist in evaluating clinical performance and progress; instruct residents, interns and allied health students in the procedures and techniques of anesthesiology. Disassemble equipment and clean work area; report necessary equipment repairs and adjustments to proper personnel. Maintain records of each anesthetic administered and prepare periodic reports related to activities.
