Position Description:

Designs interactive front-end applications using Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, NPM, HTML/CSS, and RxJS. Develops web applications by leveraging different frameworks such as Java EE, Apache Tomcat, Spring MVC/Spring Boot, Logback, SLF4j, and Maven. Develops software applications according to Agile Software Development methodologies. Collaborates in a team environment to develop, deploy, and support key applications and features. Manages cloud infrastructure (Azure / AWS), optimizing deployment processes and troubleshoots any issues that may arise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, implements, and supports Workplace Solution's suite of digital products and services.

  • Ensures technical alignment to standard software methodologies regarding object-oriented design, coding standards, RESTful service consumption and integration, common design patterns, secure application development, and test coverage.

  • Decomposes sophisticated business problems into creative, efficient, and scalable solutions.

  • Provides guidance and mentors to the other Developers within the wider Digital Platforms Technology team.

  • Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.

  • Develops and oversees software system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, and attends project plans meetings.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and maintaining Web applications using Angular, Javascript, or GraphQL in a financial or technology services domain.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building and maintaining Web applications using Angular, Javascript, or GraphQL in a financial or technology services domain.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing and maintaining dynamic front-end Web applications using modern Javascript frameworks -- Angular 10+, RxJs, Redux, NgRx, GraphQL, or jQuery to implement responsive designs and optimize performance for various screen sizes and devices.

  • DE developing and deploying applications to Cloud platforms -- AWS or Microsoft Azure; and performing Cloud infrastructure management to build scalable and resilient applications using Cloud native services -- AWS, Lambda, or Azure.

  • DE designing and developing enterprise services (APIs) converting business requirements to solutions and testing in distributed environments with Object Oriented Programming (OOPs) using Java, REST, Spring Boot or Database.

  • DE implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automating build, test, and deployment processes using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
