Responsibilities

Ascension St. John's is looking for a Nurse Practitioner for our Pediatric department.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. John'sto provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Pediatric clinic
  • Partner with 1 MD and 1 NP

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcareservices by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.

  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunization and patient care.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Ascension St. Vincent Anderson is a 240-bed acute care hospital in Anderson, Indiana, serving patients of all ages in Madison county and surrounding areas.

Services include a Level III Trauma Center, mental health and addictions unit, state-of-the-art cancer center, womens center, outpatient surgery center, ambulatory care, and outpatient rehabilitation center.

Ascension St. Vincent Anderson has 150 physicians on the medical staff and more than 1,500 associates. Anderson is located 30 minutes northeast of Indianapolis.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
    • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
    • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Valid state license required specific to the state in which the associate works.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.
