Job Description Summary:
PayPal is seeking a talented Senior Staff Machine Learning Scientist to join our Global Machine Learning team, driving the development of AI-driven solutions that will shape the future of PayPal. You will design and develop ML solutions including personalization, recommendation, and ranking of deals and promotion across our Brands and surfaces. Your goal will be to optimize the customer journey through personalized experiences.
Your day to day:
Develop and implement advanced ML frameworks, such as graph neural networks and deep learning models, to solve critical business problems related to recommendation of PayPal products and personalizing product experiences.
Design and deploy scalable generative AI solutions as part of the ecosystem.
Enhance PayPal's ability to provide a seamless customer experience by working closely with our engineering group and PayPal's Platforms organization.
Communicate complex concepts and the results of models and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing partners and customers with your insights.
Shape architecture and bring alignment across platform teams on MLOps flows.
Influence the direction of the team and bring state-of-the-art solutions to market.
What do you need to bring:
Masters degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.) with 7+ years of relevant industry experience or PhD with 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
Experience in Recommendation/Ranking, Personalization, Search, or Ads is a big plus.
Proficient in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
Familiarity with relevant machine learning frameworks and packages such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. GCP/Hadoop and big data experience is an advantage.
Experience shipping real-time models is a big plus.
Fluent spoken and written English communication with business and engineering partners to exchange requirements, explain solution methodologies, and influence with insights.
