We are now ramping our efforts to bring Rescale’s capabilities to drive mission impact in the public sector from civilian to defense agencies. What You'll Do As Rescale’s Director of Public Affairs, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the government relations & communications strategy with the legislative and executive branches. As the first dedicated hire for government relations, you will be instrumental in building this function from 0 to 1 as a growth driver for Rescale’s public sector business. Responsibilities will include: You will lead Rescale’s government relations efforts, creating and executing a comprehensive government relations and communications strategy. You will support the designing, planning, and implementing of appropriations and authorization strategies in partnership with business line leadership. You will develop and execute coordinated approaches to new business opportunities, working closely with business development leadership. You will develop the engagement strategy and represent the company in engagements with key stakeholders such as Members of Congress and their staff, Committee Staff, executive branch officials, industry groups, think tanks, and other audiences. You will communicate our value to customers, partners, competitors, and the interested public, creating and executing communications strategies to build the company’s reputation, enhance strategic positioning in the industry, and increase visibility of the company’s capabilities and benefits to the public sector. You will draft and manage the company’s congressional engagement materials, including the drafting and submission of white papers, power points, congressional testimony and hearing prep, and other required deliverables. You will monitor, analyze, and engage the annual congressional policymaking process to support the company’s priorities. You will collaborate closely across functions at Rescale including revenue, engineering, product, and compliance. Key Qualifications At least 8+ years of experience in government relations and/or federal government service in the executive or legislative branch. Deep understanding of the U.S. federal authorization and appropriations processes and the ability to effectively advocate for initiatives within the process. Ability to build coalitions and to develop and maintain relationships with key Congressional and executive branch officials and other key stakeholders. Experience with policy and budget issues as well as acquisition process for both defense and civilian agencies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter and quick study with fortitude and resilience to build out the function and rapidly iterate. Ability to collaborate with colleagues across functions in the company. Ability to travel, up to approximately 25%. Willingness to register as a federal lobbyist. Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance. Remote position but based in the Washington, DC area.
