Job Details
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our team, a leading commercial general contracting firm. The ideal candidate will work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities: Assist Project Managers in overseeing all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution Create, update, and maintain project controls tracking cost, schedule, changes, submittals, and quality control Organize and document project meetings, preparing accurate minutes and action items Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely project completion Assist in procurement processes, including soliciting vendor pricing and recommending contract awards Prepare accurate and concise contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders Support the change order management process by updating logs, obtaining pricing, and developing estimates and proposals Review and coordinate shop drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents Assist in the project close-out process to ensure timely completion Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and quality Serve as a liaison between project management and team members, conveying important updates and gathering feedback Prepare project status reports and assist in creating project proposals Participate in weekly staff meetings and project-related discussions
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably as an Assistant Project Manager Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and industry standards Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
