Provide consulting engineering services for electrical systems commissioning, maintenance, and testing in large commercial facilities, and data centers.

Work remotely from home on reports and Method of Procedure. Travel for on site work nationwide for short durations (2-5 days).
Preferred candidate will be in Ashburn, VA, Atlanta, or New York metro areas.
Salary is based on experience.
The position requires direct interface with clients and on-site work at facilities in operation or under construction. Extensive travel is required on a regular basis. Commissioning, Maintenance, and testing services may include any or all of the following: Circuit breakers, protective relays, testing to evaluate the condition and operation of generators, transformers, cables, busways, automatic transfer switches, static transfer switches, Power Distribution Units, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, Remote power Panelboard (RPP), and large stationary batteries; routine maintenance of all types of electrical equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment; infrared scanning of all types of electrical equipment; investigation and correction of electrical equipment operating problems and commissioning and startup of all types of electrical equipment, particularly in complex and critical systems. Reviewing designs prepared by others; preparing studies of electrical system operation including short-circuit, protective device coordination, load flow, voltage drop, motor starting, harmonics, and reliability using advanced computer software; investigating electrical system operating conditions including measurement and analysis of steady-state and transient voltage and load conditions, power quality, harmonics, and electric and magnetic fields using sophisticated instrumentation; inspections and surveys of electrical distribution systems and preparation of electrical system drawings using computer-assisted drafting (CAD); inspections of electrical installation work in progress and evaluation of compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and accepted practices; providing technical direction to others for installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.

Must have a Bachelor degree in Engineering (Preferred Electrical). Must have a minimum of 3 years in Commissioning in Data center and critical system environment. Must be able to work with limited supervision, organize own work activities, and prepare written reports. Able to travel up to 70%. Excellent communication, and writing skills. Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel) A plus:
