Key Responsibilities:

Assess and monitor the health status of oncology patients, including physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.

Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other cancer treatments as prescribed.

Monitor patients during and after treatments for side effects, complications, and adverse reactions, including managing nausea, pain, fatigue, and hematologic abnormalities.

Educate patients and their families about their cancer diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and symptom management.

Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized treatment plans.

Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families coping with the psychological impact of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Administer blood products, pain management therapies, and other supportive treatments as necessary.

Ensure proper documentation of patient care, including treatment plans, progress notes, and follow-up care.

Monitor laboratory results (e.g., blood counts, liver function) and work with the healthcare team to adjust treatment as needed.

Educate patients about lifestyle changes, nutritional support, and self-care strategies to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Assist with the management of cancer-related complications such as infections, bleeding, and organ dysfunction.

Advocate for patients, providing information and resources to support their care and decision-making process.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required;

Experience in oncology nursing or a clinical setting with exposure to cancer care preferred.

Strong knowledge of chemotherapy regimens, side effects, and management.

Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
