Health & WellnessLocation: Barnabas Health Medical Group, Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ 07052Job OverviewThe Advanced Practice Nurse, APN, may be required to rotate between the Employee Health and Wellness clinics although the main location will be out of the Hamilton Employee Health Location,With advanced clinical expertise, the APN performs pre-placement physicals, fitness for duty evaluations, return-to-work health evaluations, work-related injuries, and medical clearances of existing employees and potential new hires in accordance to the departments policies, procedures and protocols,The APN also evaluates employees medical surveillance, health screenings and for-cause substance testing,The APN performs many of these same services for external clients as well,The APN will serve as the primary provider at off-site clinics for PSEG and other external clients,QualificationsAt least 3yrs (with occupational background, is preferred).Licensure as an Advanced Practical Nurse required;Master's degree , MSN, MPH, MPA, preferred,A minimum of three years of direct hands-on experience working in occupational/employee health, primary care and/or urgent care settings, Department of Transportation ,DOT, Certification preferred, without DOT certification, must be obtained within 4 months of employment,BLS-CPR and ACLS CertificationCDS and DEAScheduling RequirementsFull Timeday 40 hours (Monday- Friday)Essential FunctionsProvides medical assessments, treatments, clearances for RWJBH applicants, team members, constituents and external customers per specific company profiles & or regulatory standards,Serves employees and provides timely evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries, illnesses and exposures,Performs clinical care professionally, serving as a customer advocate and role model,Clinical practice accurately reflects NJ Board of Medical Examiners regulations, Code of Ethics, the current NJ Department of Health requirements, and RWJBH policies and procedures,Evaluates current protocols and standards of care for translation of best practice into clinical practice,Supports the development of evidenced-based practice protocols and standards of care that include interventions and treatments to achieve desired outcomes,Applies evidence and value-based practices to achieve positive outcomes for patients,Prescribes medications and/or recommends over-the-counter medications as appropriate,Initiates laboratory tests, immunizations, and diagnostic test/procedures as appropriate according to regulation and scope of practice,Demonstrates competent clinical skills with treatment plans using most effective screening test or procedureCollaborates with physician and consults effectively with other members of the health care teamDemonstrate effective communication skills interdisciplinary to achieve results.Provides accurate, systematic and organized documentation of findings, recommendations/plan and educationIndependently participates in continuing education and maintains documentation,Develops a personal plan of development in area of clinical expertise, conferring with leader on goals and objectives,Provides culturally diverse and educationally appropriate education in relation to patient care/needs.Serves as a clinical resource to nursing staff, patients, and other multidisciplinary team members across the continuum to evaluate complex patients and identify appropriate interventions and evaluation of outcomes,Acts as a resource to staff for addressing clinical, process, and system opportunities for improvement which promote excellence in care and clinical outcomes,Promotes a collaborative work environment which supports the organizational mission, behavior expectations and values,Track, analyze, and report on relevant clinical and quality data and metrics as needed and requestedIdentifies ethical care issues and coordinates interdisciplinary collaborative meetings to resolve those issues.Participates/Provides report out in Hospitals Safety, Infection Control and/or Environment of Care meetings as assigned.Additional InformationAt RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees physical, emotional, social, and financial health.Paid Time Off (PTO)Medical and Prescription Drug InsuranceDental and Vision InsuranceRetirement PlansShort & Long Term DisabilityLife & Accidental Death InsuranceTuition ReimbursementHealth Care/Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountsWellness ProgramsVoluntary Benefits (e.g., Pet Insurance)Discounts Through our Partners such as NJ Devils, NJ PAC, Verizon, and moreChoosing RWJBarnabas Health!RWJBarnabas Health is the premier health care destination providing patient-centered,high-quality academic medicine in a compassionate and equitable manner, while deliveringa best-in-class work experience to every member of the team.
