Practice: Akron-Medina Veterinary Hospital and Pet Resort has served the greater Akron areas of Medina, Copley, and Fairlawn since 1965. We are an animal hospital in Medina, OH, that specializes in full-service, quality, small animal care.Position Purpose: We have the perfect opportunity for a doctor looking to develop the team of your dreams! If you have strong leadership skills and want to lead a group of individuals to make them a team, then this is the perfect practice for you! We have a large facility and compassionate support staff, plus we will happily work with you to accommodate your unique medical and surgical interests.
Because of the high volume of surgery/dentistry that we do, this position is best suited for a doctor with some experience.
About the area: Located just outside Akron, historic Medina is America's Hometown. It offers unique shopping, fantastic dining, fascinating history and wonderful nostalgia. With good schools and many parks, it's a great place to call home!
Essential Responsibilities:Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.Provide counsel around pet end of life care.Maintain patients’ medical records.Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.Requirements/Qualifications:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.Appropriate state licensure.Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.Benefits Offered:Competitive Compensation - All salary ranges are negotiable based on experienceUnlimited personal timeBonus incentivesHealth insurance; dental insurance; vision insuranceRetirement benefits (401(k), Roth(k) with match)CE and licensure reimbursement Flexible work schedulesManaging career path developmentEmployee Assistance ProgramDVM Referral ProgramMental Health ResourcesRelocation assistance available
