Role Description

Position Summary

As a Senior Design Lead with Zoetis Precision Animal Health, you'll drive the execution of our digital user experience in partnership with product owners. You'll be responsible for improving our design systems, bringing our brands to life digitally, performing and analyzing research to deeply understand the rapidly evolving, modern consumer, and designing the future intersection of genetics, precision healthcare, and consumer technology through our user experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure products are intuitive, accessible, and delightful to use.

This role reports directly to the Senior Product Lead, and works in close partnership with Product Managers, Data, and Engineering.

Position Responsibilities

Drive the strategic vision and execution of the end-to-end UX design process from initial concept through final implementation. This includes overseeing user research, competitive analysis, wireframing, conceptual design, user flow definition, information architecture, interactive prototyping, user testing, UX writing, and visual design.

Lead cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Customer Experience & Support, and other departments to align business objectives with user needs and translate them into impactful design solutions.

Develop and drive adherence to a robust user research, design, and testing framework, ensuring continuous insight gathering, rigorous usability testing, and comprehensive design documentation (including user personas, journey maps, and design specifications) to streamline collaboration and handoff to product development teams.

Mentor and lead a team of UX designers, providing strategic guidance, constructive feedback and fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Establish and maintain expertise in industry trends and best practices, integrating cutting-edge methodologies into the design process. Champion and embed user-centered design principles at every stage of product development, ensuring a superior user experience.

Organizational Relationships

This position requires communication directly with product, marketing, customer experience, lab operations, engineering, R&D and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Education and Experience

8+ years of experience in UX Design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or similar

Proven experience leading user research and design projects, and managing teams with an emphasis on cross-collaboration

Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, consumer behavior/psychology, user research, and iterative design and testing techniques

Comfortable presenting user flows from the customer/consumer perspective to stakeholders, and constructively defending design choices based on user research and best practices

Proven ability to lead user research and testing with customers to generate unbiased feedback and incorporate into design iterations.

Proficient designing for (or able to learn quickly) the following digital experiences: web, mobile web, native app, complex online technology platforms

A deep understanding of and empathy for users, advocating for their needs throughout the design process.

Commitment to creating inclusive and accessible designs for diverse user groups.

Technical Skills Requirements

Strong communication skills and a collaborative nature

Proficiency in Figma or other design tools like Sketch, Adobe XD

Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) preferred

Proficiency with primary and secondary UX research techniques

Experience with Confluence, Jira for development project management

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in ( Colorado) . Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $80,000-100,000

Base Pay Range: $85,000-115,000
