Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Pre/Post-Operative Care

Job Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (5x8 Hr Shifts)

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience

License: Illinois State RN License in good standing

Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by American Heart Association - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Must-Have: - Experience in Surgical Center Pre/Post-Operative Care - Proficiency in EPIC documentation - Ability to establish IVs and medication administration practices

Job Description: - Provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients within the scope of pre/post-operative services. - Implement procedures and theories related to the specialty area. - Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care for integration by the healthcare team. - Conduct initial patient assessments and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs. - Implement and modify patient care plans based on continuous evaluation. - Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and rectifying potential hazards. - Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues and offer constructive feedback for professional development. - Identify personal learning needs and proactively seek educational solutions. - Fulfill all departmental competency requirements. - Complete comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately. - Recognize and respond to normal and abnormal findings, notifying physicians as necessary. - Participate in the 'time out' process with the operating room team.
