This role encompasses support from initial planning and design through construction and into the activation phase. The Campus Modernization project in Oakland is a $1.5 billion initiative aimed at modernizing the UCSF Oakland Children's campus, including the NHB, Administrative Support Building (ASB), redevelopment of the inpatient campus site, and several enabling projects.

This position is a strategic leader who bridges hospital operations, senior executive decision makers and design and construction of a new 277k sf hospital addition to an operating children's hospital campus. This person will engage on a regular basis with executives including CEO, CMO, CNO, VP Support Services, and leadership of departments including NICU, lab, periop, Emergency, Radiology, and support departments.

This position will actively engage in the design for the new hospital and lead the development of new operational plans for each department that will operate in the building upon its completion. This position should have high levels of project management skills, experience with clinical operations and the ability to communicate and bridge gaps between front line workers and hospital executive leadership.

The Clinical Construction Sr. Program Manager creates effective strategies for organizing, assigning, tracking, analyzing, and overseeing projects across multiple work streams. They document each project's scope, manage resources to meet deadlines, and escalate issues promptly when necessary. The role requires exceptional leadership and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of stakeholder needs. The Clinical Construction Sr. Program Manager effectively handles competing priorities and resource conflicts with minimal supervision, staying adept at applying new technologies and concepts to current and future projects. This crucial role demands extensive experience in both clinical and construction settings to build trust, act as a liaison between groups, and develop solutions and strategies for resolving conflicts between the two areas.

The Clinical Construction Sr. Program Manager will work closely with senior-level individuals who do not directly report to them. This role requires the ability to establish consensus and communicate clearly with both hospital leadership and the design and construction team. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, including team building, consensus building, diplomacy, persuasiveness, negotiation, and creating a positive work environment.

The position is based in the East Bay, with an office located in Oakland. It is a hybrid role, allowing for some remote work, but it is expected that the majority of time will be spent on-site at the Oakland office, hospital, and job site-typically at least three days a week. The role will also require flexibility to respond to project needs and demands, which may necessitate additional in-person presence depending on project phases, coordination with hospital staff, and collaboration with the design and construction teams.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
