Founded in 1999, The Funders Network (TFN) is a membership organization that supports grantmakers across North America to advance strategies to create fair, prosperous, and sustainable regions and communities. The organization helps members advance shared learning, develop best practices, create policy agendas, support policy reforms, and improve outcomes in communities. TFN provides tools to funders for investing, grantmaking, collaborating, convening, facilitating, and more. TFN is uniquely positioned to lead the movement for land use policies and practices that benefit both places and people.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Vision

TFN’s vision is to create generations of courageous philanthropic leaders who are engaged, emboldened, and equipped to bring about a just society. This includes increasing the representation of people of color in philanthropic leadership positions. TFN aspires to serve as a leading resource for thinking and action that is interdisciplinary, innovative, and transformative, and which recognizes that racial equity is both a process to guide us and an aspirational outcome.

The Position

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will evaluate the organization’s programs, assess member organization needs, and continue to expand the equity work of TFN among its place-based membership. The CEO will represent the organization nationally, developing and maintaining effective relationships with funders, nonprofits, businesses, the public sector, and community leaders. The CEO will be responsible for ensuring the organization’s fiscal health and providing necessary support to the staff.
