Fund Development Officer (SSNC)

The Fund Development Officer is responsible for all fundraising programs including grant writing, planned giving, event planning, social media, and web-based fundraising activities. Manages a portfolio of foundation donors and prospects while actively pursuing internal and external funding sources.

Senior Services for Northern California (SSNC) was established in 1987 to further the mission of NCPHS to provide homes and services for healthy aging. With $40 million in assets and a governing Board of Trustees, the Fund Development Officer leads a staff of four and is a member of the senior executive staff of NCPHS. This role works closely with the President/CEO, vice presidents, program directors, board members, and the entire development team to develop and implement effective strategies for meeting fundraising and revenue goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree required; CFRE desired.
  2. Five years of successful experience in fundraising, public information, and non-profit administration.
  3. Possession of a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  4. Thorough knowledge of trusts, annuities, and planned giving.
  5. Understanding of tax laws as they relate to planned giving and not-for-profit administration.
  6. Sensitivity and understanding of the issues related to aging.
  7. Excellent creative writing skills, including the ability to develop successful grant proposals, reports, and other materials.
  8. Ability to synthesize complex material and communicate it clearly and succinctly.
  9. Ability to build and interpret a program budget and financial reports.
  10. Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to relate to individuals from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
