Software Engineer, Patient Experience
NexHealth, San Francisco, CA, United States
About NexHealth
Our healthcare system is frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you have to call to schedule an appointment with a doctor and are still handed a clipboard to fill in a form? NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare. We’re doing this by connecting patients, doctors, and developers. We’re the first to fully automate the integration with health record systems, paving the way for a new generation of disruptive health-tech companies.
Here's some of what we've accomplished:
- $125M Series C at $1B valuation
- Manage more than 75 million patient records
- 80%+ annual revenue growth
- Top 10% of Inc. 5000 (2022)
SaaS Engineering at NexHealth
On the Patient Experience team, you’ll build insanely great software that attracts new patients, improves the relationship between patients and their doctors, and helps our customers’ businesses thrive. We directly solve the frustratingly analog challenges in the healthcare system with our software, including features like one-click online booking, digital forms, and automation for patient communications.
What You’ll Do:
- Join the team as a respected technical leader, and play a pivotal role in the launch and scaling of our Payments products and services.
- Build a great experience for our Payments customers that makes it easy for patients to pay for their medical care, and for our customers to run a successful business.
- Set the direction of our application architecture for our React-based frontend, and shape the application stack, components, design system, and everything else necessary to deliver an amazing modern web application.
- Own projects end to end, from technical design and decomposition to a successful launch and rollout.
- Partner with engineering leaders and product managers to generate, prioritize, and deliver on ambitious engineering goals over the course of months or years.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer - not 1 year of experience 10 times.
- A history of sustained contribution over time - for example, 3+ years working on a single codebase, of which you were a primary architect or key contributor.
- A vision for what great software and great engineering looks like, and the technical expertise and leadership skills to make that vision a reality.
- Excellent systems-level thinking - you can understand all the different components of a distributed system, how they interact, and how customer journeys and data flows touch each part.
- Ability and desire to solve high impact problems with any tool necessary, even if it requires stepping out of your comfort zone.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you can communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders, and business needs to the engineering team.
NexHealth Values
- Solve the customer’s problems, not yours: When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers.
- Do the things others are not willing to do: As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace.
- Take ownership: Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses.
- Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent: Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication.
- Default trust: As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster.
- Think in first principles: We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.
Here’s a glimpse into our interview process:
- You’ll talk with a NexHealth Recruiter.
- You’ll talk with the Hiring Manager on a video call.
