Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Controller for a healthcare practice in the Raleigh, NC area. The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the department including financial reporting, audit management and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain policies, procedures and practices related to management of the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll and fixed asset accounting
Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls along with effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles
Assist, oversee and prepare all facets of monthly close including journal entries and financial statements for multiple entities
Responsible for selection, training, development, and management of the accounting team
Manage cash flow for multiple companies including inter-company receivables and payables
Oversee and manage monthly bank account reconciliations for a Master bank account with multiple linked accounts to include recording of transfer activity and non-check transactions as well as recording transactions in the accounting software
Process and maintain general ledgers for all entities and record journal entries
Review monthly accounting close processes including review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
Manage and oversee the month end and year end closing procedures
Provide financial information to external CPA firm for preparation of tax returns. Collaborate with CPA firm for best tax strategies
Calculate and pay quarterly bonus payments and distributions to the owner/partner physicians
Prepare supporting documentation for year-end financial statements
Oversee annual audits including retirement and workman's compensation audits
Ensure timely and accurate reporting utilizing existing systems
Maintain and update fixed asset schedules to properly account for depreciation. Reconcile fixed asset schedules to general ledgers
Assist in planning of future capital expenditures
Calculate employer retirement contributions and fund on a regular basis
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Advanced knowledge of accounting software and systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to present financial information to leadership team and executive team.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
