We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Monroe, NC. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical abilities, electrical skills, and experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of our machinery and equipment, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, and maintaining production uptime. The role requires a hands-on individual with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and other production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, including high-voltage systems, wiring, sensors, and controls.
- Program, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), including troubleshooting ladder logic and making necessary adjustments.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, part replacements, and service history.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, as well as upgrades to existing systems.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform quick, effective repairs to reduce downtime and restore operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to resolve technical issues and improve equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with industrial control systems, motors, relays, and drives.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting; experience with brands such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar preferred.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in an industrial setting with exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
