Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD)staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers. The Cyber Engineering program group office works early in space life to establish architectures and requirements across segments of space, launch, ground, and user mission data. We focus on delivering high quality governance and processes in order to provide access to modern, reliable, and secure IT infrastructure and systems that support and enhance the space enterprise. This includes supporting the development of very special cybersecurity requirements for satellite equipment. Work Model This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, Va or El Segundo, Ca , which requires 100% onsite work. What You'll Be Doing Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information Identify and define system security requirements Design computersecurity architecture and develop detailed cybersecurity designs Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement Applying strong problem solving skills to perform effectively in high pressure situations. What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements for the Engineer Specialist - Cyber Security Architecture and Information Systems Security BS degree in STEM 8 years or more industry work experience related to Cybersecurity or Information security engineering. Demonstrated capability in mission definition, functional decomposition, requirements allocation, system design, and system lifecycle experience. Experience evaluating and identifying threats and vulnerabilities, assessing their potential impact to determine overall risk. Proficient in designing, implementing, and maintaining critical security systems to ensure operational resilience. Demonstrated success in leading and delivering projects including managing requirements, timelines, and budgets to effectively achieve objectives. Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools Knowledge or comprehensive knowledge of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically/internationally approx. 15-20% if required. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
