Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Network Engineer
to join our dynamic IT team. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of core networking technologies, network security practices, and automation, particularly with Cisco products, along with a proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize networks for both performance and reliability.

Core Network Skills
:
Network Design and Architecture
: Develop and implement robust network designs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across both LAN and WAN environments.
Routing and Switching
: Implement, configure, and maintain routing and switching protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and VLANs, ensuring smooth data flow and minimal downtime.
IP Addressing and Subnetting
: Manage and design efficient IP address allocation and subnetting, ensuring effective use of network resources.
DNS, DHCP, NAT
: Configure and maintain DNS, DHCP, and NAT services, ensuring seamless name resolution, dynamic IP address management, and translation between internal and external IP addresses.
Network Security
:
Firewall Management
: Manage and configure firewalls, ensuring network access control policies and protecting against external threats.
VPNs and Secure Access
: Design and implement secure VPN solutions, including remote access VPNs and site-to-site VPNs, ensuring encrypted communications over the network.
Intrusion Detection and Prevention
: Configure and manage intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), ensuring proactive threat identification and mitigation.

: Expertise in Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and wireless protocols to ensure optimal wireless coverage and performance.
Wireless Controllers
: Manage and configure wireless controllers for efficient wireless access point deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Network Segmentation Skills
:
Network Design
: Plan and implement network segmentation to improve performance, scalability, and security, particularly in large or complex environments.
Security Policy Implementation
: Work with security teams to implement network segmentation policies and ensure compliance with security requirements.
Cisco FMC and Firepower Expertise
:
Firewall and Threat Defense Configuration
: Configure and manage Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) and Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) appliances for effective perimeter security.
FMC Management
: Oversee the operation and management of Cisco FMC for centralized control and monitoring of network security, ensuring high availability and threat mitigation.
High Availability (HA)
:
Ensure high availability (HA) of critical network infrastructure components, employing redundancy strategies and failover mechanisms to maintain business continuity.
Scripting and Automation
:
Automation Skills
: Utilize automation tools (such as Python, Ansible, or Cisco automation tools) to streamline network configuration, management, and monitoring tasks.
Cisco Tools
: Leverage Cisco-specific tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center) for efficient network management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
:
Education
: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Certifications
:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or higher certifications preferred.
Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate or Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional for network security-focused roles.
Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
Experience

Proven experience in network engineering, network design, and security management.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking hardware.
In-depth understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security technologies.
