Passion. Purpose. Impact.

CJP is at the heart of Greater Boston's Jewish community, but our reach is felt around the world. Ranked by BBJ as Massachusetts’ largest non-profit organization, CJP is a philanthropic investor and mobilizer of people, resources, and skills that make a bigger difference locally and globally. We focus on making Jewish life and learning accessible to all individuals and families in Boston and beyond. We thoughtfully invest in the care and well-being of all community members. And we provide stability and growth to nonprofit organizations and institutions that underpin our community. Our greatest resource is our people — the staff, volunteers, partners, and leaders who help make Greater Boston’s Jewish community a welcoming home. It’s this energy and commitment that drives CJP’s mission. We are currently seeking an Associate Director for CJP’s Center for Combating Antisemitism. CJP’s Center for Combating Antisemitism (CCA) is part of CJP’s Strategy and Impact Department. The Center mobilizes partners and resources to make antisemitism in Greater Boston socially and politically unacceptable. Over the next few years, CCA will: Mobilize civic leaders and engage them in our work to ensure that their institutions are safe and supportive places and spaces for all Jews. Educate the next generation – and the academic institutions that serve them – about antisemitism, Jewish history, and Jewish life to ensure that they both can confidently respond to acts of hate. Ensure that our Jewish community remains strong, safe, and vibrant by expanding CJP’s successful Communal Security Initiative. The Associate Director will be responsible for the management and growth of this work, with a particular focus on executing our civic leadership (including higher education and business/workplaces) strategy. The Associate Director will work closely with the Senior Director to implement CCA’s strategy in collaboration with partners, acting as a deputy director of the Center. The Associate Director specifically will lead aspects of our emerging civic engagement and allyship strategy by focusing on building relationships and coordinating training and providing resources for civic leaders in Boston. Key Responsibilities: Build Civic Engagement to advance the initiative’s vision and mission, manage the strategic implementation, provide ongoing management of key projects and initiatives across these agendas. Support the implementation of all aspects of CCA’s work. Build out a strategy to influence Boston’s largest employers on preventing and responding to antisemitism; lead relationship building with targeted business and workplace executives with the goal of influencing action on antisemitism within institutions. Work with the Research and Evaluation team to support organizational partners in achieving strong health indicators through reporting. Coordinate with Jewish organizational partners and grantees who are working to implement our collective strategy. Represent CCA at CJP committee meetings, with key stakeholders, and community members. Work closely with project managers, CJP’s communication team, and other internal stakeholders to update resources, websites, and ensure communications are aligned with strategy. Evaluate volunteer experience and develop and implement improvements and innovation as needed. Effectively represent the initiative to colleagues and community members. Support the Senior Director in budget and financial management and oversight. Education: BA/BS in Education, Business, Management, Public Affairs, International Affairs/International Relations, Social Work or equivalent work experience. Experience: Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and execution, civic and community relations. 6+ years’ experience in creating and implementing relationship management and project-based work in a non-profit or corporate environment. 6+ years working with complex organizations and managing complicated budgets. Experience managing a team of 2 or more professionals. Proven track record of successfully working with community organizations and donors. Extensive experience with project management, implementing methodologies, measuring impact and managing budgets. Skills/Competencies: Deep, up-to-date understanding of contemporary antisemitism. Experience in community relations a plus. Experience working with at-risk and/or vulnerable populations. Ability to understand new concepts, multipart requests, and translate into action. Desire to work on a fast-paced, dynamic team. Solutions-oriented and action-oriented (i.e., takes on new opportunities and difficult challenges with energy and enthusiasm). Facility managing finances, including projects, accounting, and budget management. Political acuity and experience managing sensitive information. Ability to manage varied opinions of stakeholders. Demonstrated critical thinking. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes and shifting priorities. Other: Commitment to CJP’s mission.
