Job DescriptionJob Description
Do you have a passion for designing scalable and secure IoT ecosystems that drive innovation in smart cities, industrial automation, and connected products? Are you excited about leading the architecture of end-to-end IoT solutions, integrating hardware, cloud platforms, and data analytics to create intelligent systems that transform industries? If you’re ready to take on the challenge of building future-ready IoT solutions,
our client
has an amazing opportunity for you. We’re seeking an
IoT Solutions Architect
(aka The Connected Ecosystem Architect) to lead the design and development of robust IoT systems that power real-world applications and unlock new possibilities.
As an IoT Solutions Architect at
our client , you’ll work with cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and product managers to design IoT architectures that integrate devices, networks, edge computing, and cloud platforms. You’ll be the visionary behind the blueprint of connected ecosystems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance while meeting the specific needs of industries like manufacturing, healthcare, smart cities, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Design End-to-End IoT Architectures:
Architect comprehensive IoT solutions that integrate devices, sensors, networks, edge computing, and cloud platforms. You’ll design systems that support data collection, real-time analytics, and decision-making while ensuring scalability and security across distributed networks.
Develop Solution Blueprints for IoT Projects:
Create detailed solution architectures, technical specifications, and roadmaps for IoT deployments. You’ll define the integration points between hardware, software, and cloud services, ensuring seamless communication between components.
Cloud and Edge Computing Integration:
Lead the integration of edge computing solutions to process data locally and reduce latency. You’ll develop strategies to balance edge and cloud computing, using platforms like AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or Google Cloud IoT to manage devices and data at scale.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and data scientists to bring IoT projects to life. You’ll guide teams through the architecture design, system development, and deployment phases, ensuring that IoT solutions meet performance and business requirements.
Ensure IoT Security and Compliance:
Design robust security frameworks for IoT ecosystems, including encryption, secure communication protocols, and device authentication. You’ll ensure that IoT systems are resilient against cyber threats and comply with industry-specific regulations, such as GDPR or HIPAA.
Optimize IoT System Performance:
Focus on optimizing system performance, reliability, and scalability by developing architectures that handle large volumes of data and support high numbers of connected devices. You’ll evaluate performance metrics and optimize system components for efficiency.
Innovate with Smart Cities and Industrial IoT Solutions:
Lead the design of IoT solutions for smart cities, industrial IoT, healthcare, and connected homes. You’ll develop systems for use cases like energy management, predictive maintenance, environmental monitoring, and autonomous operations.
Requirements
Required Skills:
IoT Architecture Expertise:
Extensive experience designing and implementing IoT solutions, with deep knowledge of IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, HTTP), hardware components (sensors, actuators), and cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT).
Edge Computing and Cloud Integration:
Strong expertise in edge computing, cloud services, and hybrid architectures. You understand how to process data at the edge and integrate it with cloud platforms for real-time decision-making.
Security and Compliance:
Knowledge of security best practices in IoT environments, including encryption, secure key management, access control, and device authentication. You can design systems that comply with data privacy and industry regulations.
Scalability and Optimization:
Proven ability to design scalable IoT systems that support large numbers of connected devices and manage high data volumes. You’re experienced in optimizing architectures for performance and reliability.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide cross-functional teams through the IoT development process. You can communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Equivalent experience in IoT architecture and solution design is also highly valued.
Certifications or additional coursework in IoT, cloud architecture, or security are a plus (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure IoT Developer).
Experience Requirements:
5+ years of experience in designing and implementing IoT solutions,
with hands-on experience building end-to-end IoT architectures for industries such as smart cities, industrial IoT, healthcare, or consumer IoT.
Proven experience integrating IoT devices with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT) and building secure, scalable systems.
Experience working with edge computing, data analytics, and real-time processing in IoT environments is highly desirable.
Benefits
