On-Site Overview: Audacy is seeking a skilled and experienced Broadcast Engineer in San Francisco. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of all broadcast systems and equipment, maintaining broadcast quality standards, and supporting live and pre-recorded operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in broadcast technology, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities
What You'll Do: Oversee and maintain the operation of broadcast equipment, control rooms, transmitters, and communication systems. Provide technical support to production teams, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during live broadcasts and recordings. Assist with the setup, configuration, and calibration of broadcast systems and equipment. Monitor broadcast signals to ensure the highest quality of audio. Implement quality control checks to meet broadcast standards. Perform regular maintenance on broadcast equipment to prevent downtime. Conduct repairs as necessary and arrange for equipment replacements or upgrades. Quickly identify and troubleshoot issues related to equipment and systems to minimize disruptions to our listeners. Provide training and support as needed to other staff members. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for broadcast quality, safety, and equipment use. Qualifications
Qualifications: Minimum 5 years broadcast engineering experience Hands-on FM, HD and AM transmitter experience AM Directional Antenna experience Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain all broadcast radio station equipment, including transmitters, antennas, satellite downlinks, automation system, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephone system, and related other equipment Knowledge of FCC Rules and Regulations Strong verbal and writing communications skills Strong proven time management skills including ability to multitask. Network knowledge and experience Experience with digital audio and audio streaming Assist with the maintenance and development of all aspects of technical facilities including studios, transmitters, telephone systems, satellite, STL, computers, and data networks. A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires the use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
