Job Description
Job Title: HR Generalist
Department: Administration
Supervisor: Manager Human Resources
Location: Washington, D.C - Hybrid (4 days in the office and 1 remote)
Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Synopsis: The HR Generalist, reporting to the Human Resources Manager, manages key HR functions to assist with: recruiting, benefits, compensation, training, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and maintaining personnel files. This role also serves as the main point of contact for La Clinica del Pueblo employees on HR-related questions and issues.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in human resources or related field and/or comparable relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in HR is strongly preferred.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, required.
- Previous recruitment and onboarding experience are highly preferred.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local legislation concerning employment laws, ERISA, and other regulations is required.
- Experience in support of Full Cycle Recruitment, strongly preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems ADP is required
- Proficiency in Office 365 is required

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conducts new hire benefit orientations.
- Managers Training & Development/transportation funds.
- Manages performance evaluation and disciplinary actions in the HRIS system (ADP).
- Manage all benefits enrolments.
- Respond to questions on employee benefits.
- Helped & coordinated the open enrollment process.
- Administers & coordinates request worker’s comp and FMLA
Compliance
- Maintains employee benefit files (certifications, licensure, training, and other required documentation).
- Assists in the reviews and updates of HR policies and procedures.
- Always maintain integrity and confidentiality of personnel-related information.
- Works with managers to educate and inform on related standards.
- Assists in the communication of notices/announcements to all relevant staff.
- Takes an active role in all HR events.
- Collaborates and supports other staff members to accomplish overall HR unit goals.
- Supports the HR department in performing other duties and special projects as requested.
Performance Evaluation: To be performed at the end of the 90-day probationary period, after 12 months of employment, and annually thereafter.
