Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Nurse Practitioners (Psychiatry) provide psychiatric and behavioral healthcare, working in collaboration with licensed psychiatrists, assessing physical and psychosocial status by means of interview, health and behavioral history, physical examination and diagnostic tests. • Work collaboratively with other Psychiatric providers as well as Psychologists, Nurses and Direct Support Professionals through the appropriate prescription and management of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. • Identify, measure, and monitor clinical and related outcomes to determine the effectiveness of appropriateness of plan of care. • Participate in psychiatric peer review meetings as well as specialized team meetings.

Minimum Qualifications New York State License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND certification by the New York State Education Department in the Psychiatry specialty area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
Additional Comments • If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.
