JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. What You Will Do With JT4 The Simulation Test Engineer/Pilot will help improve advanced flight simulator cockpits by conducting hands-on testing of flight controls, avionics & instrumentation systems and simulated battle missions. You will play a key role in the test control room by giving live feedback during simulated missions to the team and customers. DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• 10+ years of Fighter Pilot experience, Completed Test Pilot School, B.S. in Engineering
• Flight experience in 5th Generation Aircraft like the F-22, F-35, F-18
• Expert knowledge of theory of flight, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft operating procedures, weapons systems, and mission tactics
• Conduct site visits, experimental investigations, analyze engineering problems, propose solutions, and provide recommendations
• Develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex system design requirements and problems in a flight simulator environment
• Conduct investigations of considerable complexity to improve the overall design of flight simulator cockpits, test control room, software/hardware interfaces.
• Develop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies, procedures, technical proposals, prepare, perform engineering studies, deliver, and submit technical papers
• Interface & communicate with internal & external customers at all levels from quotation to final design of test activities and design reviews
• Represent the company as an expert technical advisor in high-level meetings and briefings with company and customer personnel and maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical & administrative direction of project operations
• Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects, by applying the expert application of advanced knowledge and ensure compliance with federal requirements & specifications
• Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements, recommend corrections in technical application & analysis to management
• Act as an expert resource on the most complex engineering problems

Independent problem solver and great communicator that excels at baselining new systems. Must be comfortable and capable to take new systems from early research & development (R&D) stages to delivery and into sustainment. Must be able to work well with many different teams and entities and tie the development effort together with all stakeholders. The Senior Engineer will provide technical expertise in support of integration and test of simulated 5th generation fighter aircraft into to the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE). Responsibilities will also include test planning, validation and verification of software/hardware, mission execution and data analysis. Work location will be at Nellis AFB - Las Vegas, NV. Responsibilities as the Senior Engineer for simulated 5th generation fighter aircraft include: • Acts as 5th generation fighter pilot subject matter expert (F-22A experience desired). • Provides engineering support for test planning working groups, design reviews and any other related testing activities. • Assists the software development team in developing and integrating an advanced synthetic test and training environment to support military test, tactics development, and training. Apply tactical knowledge to support scenario development for customer training objectives, and test events. • Supports development of customer test plans and test cards in support of run-for-score test events. • Supports daily communications with JSE customers, subject matter experts, JSE development team representatives, and supporting sub-contractors. • Configures the battlespace, recommends post-test reconfigurations, and prepares the virtual environment with customer defined threat laydowns. • Conduct general subject matter research, analysis, correlation, and assessment. • Instructs, mentors, and demonstrates to fellow pilots and engineers the operation of simulated 5th generation aircraft sensor systems, communication and navigation systems, and pilot-vehicle interface (PVI). • Acts as technical liaison to outside organizations. • Provides simulated adversary pilot support for the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) as required. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE The incumbent must have a Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 14 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited Master of Science in engineering with at least 10 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited doctoral degree in engineering with at least 8 years of related engineering experience. The incumbent must possess a well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the Company. Must demonstrate the ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processes. The incumbent must use superior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposals. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and have a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools. Incumbent will be required to qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and must have a valid, current state-issued driver's license. Must be a U.S. citizen. SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $156,000 to $175,000 annually. Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
